A Short Greek Translation - Aesop's Fable 216 "Blame it on Mom" - From "From Alpha to Omega" by Anne Groton

"A child steals a book and brings (it) to his dear mother. Since she herself does not rebuke (the child), the child steals a cloak and brings (it) to her. But since again she herself does not rebuke, the child hastens to steal greater things. But when the boy becomes (grows up) and he still steals, on account of the bad works he is sent into the death. And in the road, since this one sees the mother, he says to her: 'Through you yourself indeed, O Mother, this fate is to me. For in the beginning, when I was stealing the books and clothes it was necessary for you to rebuke me."
