09/30/2026: Here's a great short student essay: "We can perceive many things with our senses. And they can tell us many true things due to the intelligibility of the world. But our senses fail us and deceive us if we do not fully perceive the world for what it is. Philosophy therefore is a hunt for what is most real, searching with the mind's eye past the veneer of the apparent. From the beginning philosophers have been concerned with the reality behind what can be seen. Every man can see what is before him, but the philosopher looks for the deeper why behind it. The world before us seems to shift, but the fundamental quiddity of reality, its real substance, the stability behind the change necessarily must be more real than the easily perceptible world around us.
