"An ill-Fated Frog" - Aesop's Fable 70 - A Short Greek Translation from "From Alpha to Omega" by Anne Groton

"Two frogs were friends. (On the one hand) one frog inhabits the swamp far away from the road, the other frog (on the other hand) inhabits the small water in the road. But the frog in the road was ordered by the frog in the swamp. 'Abandon the bad road, O friend, and move yourself into the beautiful swamp. Change your character and flee the dangers (the in the road dangers). But the friend was not persuaded. No longer persuade, O frog. (On the one hand) long is the road into the swamp, (on the other hand) I am small. And I do not want to move out to the place of the friend. Therefore I am not about to abandon the road. But in the road the frog finds death by a cart. Do not hesitate, o man, to be able to turn from the bad things into the beautiful ones."
