Lesson 2 - "The Second Declension" - Henle Latin I
Exercise 26
In tabula videtis Romam et imperium Romanorum. Romani Romam incolunt. Provincias imperii Romanorum videtis. Galliam videtis. Romani Gallos in bellis vicerunt.
On the map they see Rome and the empire of the Romans. The Romans inhabit Rome. They see the provinces of the empire of the Romans. They see Gall. The Romans conquered the Galls in wars. The swords are not in the towns of the Gauls because the Gauls gave the swords to the Romans after the war. Therefore after the victories of the Romans the province is in Gaul. The Gauls and the Romans inhabit the province. Dangers are in the forests of Gall, because the Gauls are not friends of the Romans. The Gauls are servants of the Romans, because the Romans conquered the Gauls. Therefore the Gauls do not praise the empire of the Romans, but the Romans on account of the glory of war praise the empire.
