An Short Ancient Greek Translation - Aesop's Fable 42 - The Treasure Hunt - "From Alpha to Omega" by Anne Groton

"The worthy farmer intended to abandon the life (i.e. was about to die) and wishes to test the children.
I will abandon the life (die), O children, but in the vineyard you all will find the treasure. They rejoice when the farmer abandons the life (dies). The brothers hasten to dig in the vineyard. They are not able to find the beautiful treasure, but by means of worthy work they make the plants of the vineyard beautiful. The good gift of the farmer is not visible to the children. The work is treasure to men."
